Segovia Guided Tour with Cathedral and Alcazar
On this guided tour, you'll explore Segovia and discover why it was declared a World Heritage Site in 1985. You'll also walk through the Plaza Mayor and explore the Cathedral and Alcazar.
Segovia Guided Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll meet next to the famous Aqueduct, one of the most symbolic monuments of Segovia. From here, we'll begin our guided tour in Spanish of the capital of this province.
Throughout the tour, we'll discover fascinating places such as the viewpoint of La Canaleja, Casa de los Picos, Plaza de Medina del Campo and Plaza del Corpus. We'll also visit the Romanesque Church of San Martin, a temple with a curious history that has been standing since 1117.
Next, we'll go into the towering Segovia Cathedral to explore the interior of this 16th-century architectural jewel. Inside, our guide will take us on a tour of this temple known as the “Lady of Cathedrals,” due to its large size and its fusion of Gothic and Renaissance features. We'll also have access to the radial chapels and admire the large painting that hangs over the altar.
Then, the tour will continue towards the Canonjías neighborhood, where the religious leaders of the old cathedral built their own neighborhood in the 12th century. Here, you'll learn all about the peculiarities of this neighborhood in Segovia and the privileges of the canons.
Our last stop will be at the Alcazar of Segovia, one of the most famous fortresses in Spain. We'll discover the ins and outs of this iconic fortress on a guided tour of the Alcazar. Then, if you'd like, you can stay inside and continue exploring on your own.
