Pelișor Castle Tickets
Visit the Pelișor Castle
Located in the royal estate of Sinaia, in the heart of the Carpathians, stands Pelișor Castle, designed as a summer residence for the then-crown prince and princess, Ferdinand and Maria, the future king and queen of Romania. With your tickets, you’ll delve into its history, which dates back to 1899 to 1902, when it was commissioned by King Carol I.
During your visit, you'll discover a building on a more intimate scale than its larger counterpart, Peleș Castle, yet perfectly integrated into the landscape. Its chief architect, the Czech Karel Liman, designed a composition with half-timbered elements, to which he added local features, such as the towers topped with colored sandstone tiles, inspired by the bell towers of Bukovina.
Inside Pelisor Castle, you'll clearly see the influence of Queen Maria, nicknamed the "artist queen." The architecture and decoration incorporate the so-called Art 1900 style, very close to Art Nouveau, along with Neo-Romanian and Brancovan elements.
It's a carefully staged residence, with salons, private chambers, and rooms decorated in different phases between 1902-1903 and 1925-1928, as the monarch's taste and artistic vision evolved. One of its most famous spaces is the Golden Bedroom, a testament to that highly personal aesthetic quest.
