Tour Details

Our guided tour of Tétouan will begin at the Moulay Mehdi Square, in front of the impressive Church of Our Lady of Victories. Once there, we'll head into the heart of the Medina to begin an unforgettable tour of Morocco's white city.

Our first stop will be in the old Jewish quarter or Mellah, where we'll feel as if we have travelled back in time. We'll stroll through its narrow streets and stop to admire the imposing façade of the Isaac Ben Walid Synagogue, the great legacy of this community.

Afterwards, we'll walk to Hassan II Square, the nerve centre of local life in Tétouan. Here, we'll find the Royal Palace, the imposing building where the monarch resides when he visits the city.

We'll pass through the Double Arch Gate, one of the oldest in the Medina, and see up close the fascinating artisanal process of the tanneries, where hides are dyed and tanned using traditional methods. We'll learn all about this technique!

Our tour will continue outside the Great Mosque, the largest and most important temple in Tétouan, and continue through the labyrinthine alleys, testimony to Andalusian architecture and culture. Then, we'll explore the artisan district of Jarazine, a place full of life and colour where you can admire the local talent.

Next, we'll head to Feddan Park, an ideal place to observe the daily life of the people of Tétouan. Afterwards, we'll visit the Gold Market, a souk known for its silver and gold jewellery. We'll also stop to visit Bab Mkabar, the monumental cemetery with spectacular views of the city.

We'll end the tour in the Ensanche neighbourhood, which shows the influence of the Spanish protectorate on the city. The final stop of the tour will be back at Moulay Mehdi Square, where we'll say goodbye 2.5 hours later.
