Too many people, they shouldn't allow so many entries, we met on the Saturday before Easter, a long weekend for the Dutch... but it was too much and you totally don't see what they sell you... yes, there are a lot of flowers and tulips... but too much commercial and all very expensive...better other alternatives and see the surrounding fields...wouldn't go back.

Madurodam, the Miniature City of the Netherlands

With a history stretching back over 70 years, Madurodam is one of the Netherlands’ main attractions. It's home to 430 models and over 50,000 miniature inhabitants. Everything is on a 1:25 scale: people, trains, cars, boats, and windmills that come to life and move, recreating Dutch culture, its commercial history, and its battle against the water.

Some of the most iconic sights you’ll be able to see include:

  • Mini-Rotterdam: the Euromast, the Hotel New York, and the famous cube houses
  • Amsterdam in a day: the Rijksmuseum, the Red Light District, the Anne Frank House, and the Royal Palace on Dam Square
  • The famous Alkmaar cheese market
  • Our colourful tulip fields
  • The tallest tower in the Netherlands: the Dom Tower in Utrecht.

Interactive Experiences & Attractions

More than just a model park, Madurodam offers immersive experiences for the whole family:

  • 21 interactive installations: become part of Dutch history. Create your own beats with DJ Armin van Buuren, load ships at the port of Rotterdam, or help Hansje Brinker save the country from a flood!
  • Indoor attractions: combine learning and fun at the indoor attractions. Travel back in time in New Amsterdam and discover the Dutch roots of the famous city of New York. At Dutch Masters, you’ll delve into the world of iconic artists such as Vermeer and Van Gogh through hidden paths within their famous paintings. At The Wind Chaser, you’ll feel the power of the wind and discover how the Dutch managed to harness it.
  • Outdoor fun: you can also enjoy the children’s play areas and Rivierenland, the water play area. On warm days, children can cool off and splash about, whilst in the colder months, you can take a pleasant stroll and enjoy a hot chocolate.

Opening Times

Madurodam miniature park is open daily from 11 am to 5 pm.
