Trans-Siberian Railway: Vladivostok, Moscow & St. Petersburg

Day 1: Vladivostok

After your flight to Vladivostok, we'll pick you up at the airport and take you to a centrally located hotel in the city, where you'll be free for the rest of the day.

Day 2: Vladivostok

After breakfast, we'll pick you up at your hotel and embark on a tour of Vladivostok. During the tour, we'll visit the iconic Fortress Museum as well as the Catholic church and the Church of the Intercession. The tour will continue to Korabelnaya Naberezhnaya Pier, where we'll get to see the famous Soviet submarine C-56, one of the most successful Russian submarines during World War II.

At the end of the tour, we'll take you back to the hotel and you'll have the rest of the day free for lunch and sightseeing. In the late afternoon, we'll pick you up at your accommodation and take you to Vladivostok station, where you'll take the Trans-Siberian train to Irkutsk.

Days 3 & 4: Vladivostok - Irkutsk

During these two days, you'll enjoy the journey aboard the Trans-Siberian Railway. You'll cross the vast landscapes of the steppe, passing very close to the border between Russia and China. This journey, one of the most emblematic railway routes in Asia, is sure to remain forever etched in your memory.

Day 5: Irkutsk - Listvyanka

Welcome to Irkutsk! After meeting you at the station, we'll drive you to a hotel in Listvyanka, where you'll have the rest of the day to spend as you please. We recommend a visit to St. Nicholas Church and the museum dedicated to Baikal, the deepest lake in the world.

Day 6: Listvyanka

Free day in Listvyanka, where you can take a boat trip on Lake Baikal and enjoy the local cuisine of this inland area of Russia.

Day 7: Listvyanka - Irkutsk

After breakfast at the hotel in Listvyanka, we'll drive to the Taltsy Museum of Wooden Architecture. We'll check out its characteristic constructions and then follow the road north for a tour of Irkutsk, also known as the "Paris of Siberia."

After admiring its elegant French-style buildings, you'll have free time for lunch and a stroll around the city. Then, in the evening, we'll take you to Irkutsk station, where you'll continue your journey on the Trans-Siberian Railway to Yekaterinburg.

Days 8 and 9: Irkutsk - Yekaterinburg

For two days, you'll cross Siberia along the Trans-Siberian Railway. From the windows of the train, you can enjoy the scenery of this vast area of Russia, where the plains stretch as far as the eye can see. You can also take the opportunity to enjoy the local cuisine in the train's restaurant car.

You will be met at the Yekaterinburg station and then be taken to a comfortable hotel in the city, where you'll have the rest of the day free.

Day 10: Yekaterinburg

We'll start the day with a sightseeing tour of Yekaterinburg, where we'll marvel at architectural gems such as the Church of All Saints. The route will continue to Ganina Yama, the meadow where the bodies of Tsar Nicholas II and his family were hidden after their execution in 1918.

After a final stop at the monolith marking the border between Asia and Europe, we'll take you back to your hotel in Yekaterinburg and you will have the rest of the day to enjoy the city at your leisure.

Day 11: Yekaterinburg- Moscow

In the morning after breakfast at your hotel, we'll pick you up and transfer you to Yekaterinburg station. From there your Trans-Siberian train will depart to Moscow for a full day's journey.

Day 12: Moscow

You will arrive in the Russian capital early in the morning. After picking you up at the station, we'll drive to the historical center, where we'll begin a walking tour of Moscow.

First, we'll pass the former KGB Headquarters and the Bolshoi Theatre. Then we head to the Red Square to visit the GUM Shopping Gallery, St. Basil's Cathedral and the Kazan Cathedral, as well as Lenin's Mausoleum.

The rest of the afternoon will be free for you to explore the areas of Moscow that you liked the most.

Day 13: Moscow

After picking you up at your hotel, we'll take a guided tour of Moscow's Kremlin. We'll visit the four cathedrals, the Armory Museum and the famous Fabergé egg collection.

At the end of the Kremlin tour, we'll go on a tour of the Moscow Metro and explore its most beautiful lobbies. You'll have time for lunch on your own at the end of the tour and, in the afternoon, we'll transfer you to the station for the night train to St. Petersburg. The journey will take place aboard the high-speed Grand Express train, which takes just over 4 hours.

Day 14: St. Petersburg

After picking you up at the station, we'll go on a sightseeing tour of St. Petersburg. During this route by car, we'll pass by the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood and St. Isaac's Cathedral. We'll also visit the imposing Peter and Paul Fortress.

You will have the rest of the day free for shopping or strolling along the canals of the Neva River.

Day 15: St. Petersburg

Do you know where the famous Rasputin was murdered? We'll learn all about his story at the Yusupov Palace, where we'll enjoy a guided tour in the morning. Inside you can see a great collection of fresco paintings, carved figures, marble sculptures, mirrors, gold chandeliers and elegant furniture.

You will have the afternoon free to stroll around the city and soak up its charm.

Day 16: St. Petersburg

After breakfast, we'll pick you up at your hotel and take you to the former Winter Palace of the Tsars for a guided tour of the Hermitage Museum. In this art gallery, one of the largest in the world, we'll see the works of art virtuosos such as Da Vinci, Raphael and Caravaggio.

The rest of the day you can enjoy the beautiful St. Petersburg at your leisure.

Day 17: St. Petersburg

You'll have the day free until we pick you up at your hotel to take you to the airport of St. Petersburg.

Accommodation

The tour includes 10 nights accommodation with breakfast in the following hotels:

  • Vladivostok (1 night): Hotel Azimut (4 stars)
  • Listvyanka (2 nights): Listvyanka Mayak (4 stars)
  • Yekaterinburg (2 nights): Novotel Yekaterinburg Center (4 stars)
  • Moscow (2 nights): Moscow Ibis Bakhrushina Center (3 stars)
  • St. Petersburg (3 nights): Hotel Nevsky Grand (3 stars) or M-Hotel (3 stars)

 

The nights that you do not sleep in the above hotels will be spent traveling by night train. In this means of transport, you'll have a 4-person compartment with two bunk beds. In addition, each train carriage has two toilets and hot water for making tea, and you will be provided with clean bed linens and cups.

When booking, you'll only have to indicate the type of room you prefer in the hotels, as in the trains you will always travel in 4-person compartments.

If you don't want to share the train compartment with other people, you can pay a supplement. To do so, please indicate this in the comments when booking and we'll send you the request to pay the supplement.

Guide in the cities

The guide service is only included in the cities, while on the train you will travel on your own, enjoying the tour at your own pace.
