Volga River Bank Tour
Volga River Bank Tour
At 4:30 pm, we'll see you in Lenin Square. From there, we'll start our tour along the banks of the Volga River, to which the city of Volgograd owes its name.
The first stop on our tour will be Pavlov's House, a once fortified USSR apartment building that remained standing after Nazi attacks during the Battle of Stalingrad. We'll learn more about the events of the war by visiting an exhibition on the weaponry used in the Second World War.
As we stroll along the banks of the Volga, we'll discuss the wartime events that this city, known for decades as Stalingrad, has witnessed. The impact of these conflicts on the residents of Volgograd can be seen in the numerous monuments that have been erected in honour of the city's war heroes.
During our tour, you'll pass by the Volgograd military cemetery, see the majestic memorial complex of the Motherland and admire the architectural beauty of the Central Embankment. You'll also see a unique view of the Volga from the eastern part of the city.
We'll say our goodbyes at 6:30 pm by the Volga River so you can continue to explore the river at your leisure.
