Namibia Tour Package: 8 Day Safari from Windhoek
Day 1: Windhoek
On the first day of the tour, we'll meet you in arrivals at Windhoek Airport to take you to your accommodation. Once settled, you can spend the rest of the day visiting the Namibian capital at your leisure, discovering its culture and tasting the local cuisine.
Day 2: Windhoek - Parque Nacional Etosha
At 8:30 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel and leave Windhoek behind, heading north to the Etosha National Park, the most famous nature reserve in Namibia.
We'll enjoy a safari around Etosha in search of lions, rhinos, giraffes, leopards and many more wild animals. How many will we get to see on this first expedition? Keep your eyes peeled, they can appear when you least expect it!
After an unforgettable day, we'll head to the lodge where you can rest.
Day 3: Etosha National Park
On the third day, we'll get up bright and early to make the most of our day: there's much more of Etosha National Park for us to explore! Today, we'll visit the different watering holes throughout the reserve where we'll find large numbers of different species of animals sharing the space as they drink their water. This is undoubtedly one of the best experiences in Namibia.
Day 4: Etosha National Park - Damaraland
After breakfast, we'll head west to Kamanjab, a village where the local Himba people live, traditionally a nomadic group living in southern Angola and here in northern Namibia. We'll have the opportunity to meet members of the community and learn about Himba culture and traditions. At the end of the day, we'll make our way to the town of Khorixas, where we'll spend the night.
Day 5: Damaraland - Skeleton Coast - Cape Cross - Swakopmund
On the fifth day of our safari, we'll pay a visit to Twyfelfontein, also known as ǀUi-ǁAis. This site is known for its rock engravings, some of which are over 3000 years old, and we'll learn all about how ancient civilisations lived in the oldest desert in the world.
We'll then continue our tour to Skeleton Coast. Any ideas how it earned this ominous name? The guide will reveal all as we admire the awe-inspiring views: the vast arid desert merging into the wild ocean makes for a truly breathtaking sight!
The last visit of our day will be at Cape Cross, home to the largest colony of Cape fur seals in the world! You're sure to fall in love with these adorable creatures, but it'll soon be time to head on to Swakopmund, where we'll settle into our accommodation. You'll have time to go out for dinner in a local restaurant.
Day 6: Swakopmund - Sossusvlei
Having woken up in Swakopmund, we'll leave the coastal landscapes behind and head back inland to the Namib Desert. Travelling through the spectacular landscapes, we'll discover impressive landmarks like Kuiseb Canyon. We'll make a stop at the Solitaire Oasis for lunch before continuing to the lodge where we'll spend the night. As we'll arrive in mid-afternoon, there'll be plenty of time to relax by the pool and escape the sweltering heat.
Day 7: Sossusvlei
On the penultimate day of our Namibian safari, we'll stop at Sossusvlei to explore its other-worldly landscapes. We'll climb up Dune 45 for unparalleled views over the surrounding desert, home to the largest sand dune in the world.
We'll then visit the tree graveyard at Dead Vlei, a dried up clay pan from which the skeletons of long-dead camel thorn tees emerge dramatically. Feeling energetic? Let's continue our trail over the dunes climbing the famous "Big Daddy" dune, before making our way to our lodge in Sossusvlei for our final night.
Day 8: Sossusvlei - Windhoek
After packing our bags, we'll set off again back to Windhoek, where we'll arrive around 12:30 pm. You'll then have the choice between being dropped off at a restaurant, at a hotel or at the airport after eight unforgettable days touring the best of Namibia.
Depending on the option you choose when making your reservation, you'll stay in furnished tents or in comfortable cabins at Toshari Lodge, Igowati Lodge, Hotel Al Mer, Weltevrede or similar. On the first night, in Windhoek, you'll stay at Discovery Guesthouse or similar.
