Zagreb Free Food Tour
Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at Zrinjevac Park and, once we're all together, we'll start this free food tour of Zagreb. Get ready to uncover the secrets of Croatian cuisine!
First up, we'll visit Dolac Market, near St. Catherine's Church and the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. As soon as we arrive, the rows of market stalls with red umbrellas will be sure to catch your eye. This is the undisputed symbol of the market that's been open since 1930!
As we walk through its stalls of fresh fish, cheeses, and sausages, we'll have 3 tastings of crobites, savory snacks that can be made from fresh cheese with sour cream, börek or meat. From there, we'll head to Opatovina Park, where we'll learn about Zagreb's rich history and how it's reflected in its food.
We'll continue on to Tkalčićeva Street, where we'll stop for another two bites. Here, we'll quickly learn why fish is such a staple in Croatian cuisine while having a tapa. What's more, we'll uncover the cultural significance of rakija, the most popular local drink.
Lastly, we'll cap off the tour on Teslina and Radićeva streets, where we'll experience the exquisite flavors of premium Croatian olive oil and the famous truffles, both key elements of the local gastronomy. Enjoy!
Finally, after 2 hours of sightseeing, we'll bid farewell at the starting point.
