We'll begin the tour by picking you up from your hotel in Colombo. Once aboard the vehicle, we'll begin this full scenic tour of the capital of Sri Lanka. Let's get started!
Our first stop will be at the spectacular Sri Kailawasanathan Swami Devasthanam Kovil Hindu temple. We'll have 30 minutes exploring this colorful and ancient place of worship. Afterwards, we'll head to the Colombo Lotus Tower, where we'll admire one of the tallest buildings in South Asia.
We'll continue to the Colombo Fort area, a financial and government district where we'll make a 15-minute stop to see key landmarks such as the Economic History Museum, the Clock Tower, the President's House, the Old Post Office, the Cargills Department Store, and the Grand Oriental Hotel.
Next, we'll enter the Pettah district, known for its bazaars and bustling atmosphere. Here, we'll stop for 1 hour to visit the vegetable market and the Old City Hall. We'll also see the Kayman Gate Bell Tower and the famous Jami Ul-Alfar Red Mosque.
The tour continues with a stop at the Colombo Lighthouse, a historic landmark by the sea. Along the way, we'll pass the Floating Market, the Old Parliament Building, and the Port City of Colombo.
About halfway through the tour, we'll give you 1 hour of free time to enjoy a traditional meal. You'll have the opportunity to taste authentic rice and curry, the country's signature dish.
In the second part of the scenic tour, we'll visit a Zylen Tea shop and then head to the Gangaramaya Buddhist Temple, a unique blend of modern architecture and cultural heritage.
Our visit will conclude with stops at the Independence Memorial Hall and Viharamahadevi Park. On the way back to the hotel, we'll pass by the War Memorial and Colombo City Hall. The tour will end after 6 hours.
