Experience one of the most incredible sights in Nepal: watching the sunrise over Nagarkot, with the Himalayas in the background. An unforgettable image!
Nagarkot Sunrise Tour Itinerary
It may be painful getting up at 4 am in Kathmandu, but the early rise will be well worth it, as this is the perfect time to set off on a journey that will captivate you forever...
After being picked up from your hotel, you'll head towards the east of Nepal. After a 20 mile (32 km) journey, you'll arrive in Nagarkot, a small village in the Bhaktapur District, located over 7000 feet (more than 2000 m) above sea level.
Here, you'll enjoy views over what is considered to be one of the area's most picturesque locations. Nagarkot is stunning at any time of day, but seeing the rural valley with its Himalayan mountain backdrop in the light of a spectacular sunrise is a magical image that you'll remember for the rest of your life.
As the suns rays begin to illuminate Nepal, the tallest peaks of the Himalayan mountain range will become visible. You'll see Annapurnas, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Dorje Lakpa and of course Mount Everest, the world's highest mountain, at 29,029 feet, or 8,848 metres, tall. In the valley, you'll also be able to make out the Tibetan-bordering region of Langtang and the area's vast green rice terraces, another popular tourist attraction.
On the return journey to Kathmandu, if you'd like, you'll have the opportunity to stop in the ancient Newa city of Bhaktapur to explore the city and its incredible temples.
At the end of your tour, you'll be dropped off back at your hotel in the Nepalese capital.
