Thessaloniki Free Walking Tour
Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll begin our free tour of Thessaloniki from the famous umbrellas, an iconic artwork located on the shores of the Aegean Sea, which are officially called The Umbrella by Zongolopoulos.
After a short introduction, we'll stroll along the promenade of Thessaloniki toward the emblematic White Tower of Thessaloniki or Lefkós Pýrgos in Greek, Thessaloniki's main symbol. This watchtower, attentively overlooking the sea, has witnessed the city's fascinating history. We'll tell you about the most surprising facts!
Following our tour along the shores of the Aegean Sea, we'll reach Aristotelous Square, where we'll tell you about the life and legacy of one of the most important philosophers in the history of humanity. Our next stops will be at the Arch of Galerius and the Rotunda, two important vestiges from the Roman times, and discover the significance that this period had in the area of Greece.
Then, we'll head to the Church of Saint Demetrius, the patron saint of Thessaloniki. We'll admire the architecture of this Greek Orthodox church from the outside, which is popular among locals.
Finally, we'll return to the promenade and, after 2 hours, we'll conclude this free tour of Thessaloniki by returning to the starting point.
