Assisi Sightseeing Bus
Route & Stops
The Assisi sightseeing bus offers a panoramic route that is perfect for enjoying the views and the most important monuments of the birthplace of Saint Francis. Along the way, you can hop on and off at any of its three stops to explore Assisi’s most representative landmarks at your own pace:
- Piazza del Comune
- Rocca Maggiore
- Piazza San Pietro
During the journey, you'll also enjoy an audio guide in English that will provide historical, artistic, and cultural explanations of the sites you'll see from the bus.
Admission to the Museums of Assisi
Your ticket for the Assisi sightseeing bus includes access to three of the city's main museums:
Pinacoteca Comunale di Assisi
Located in the Palazzo Vallemani, just a few steps from Piazza San Pietro, this gallery features a valuable collection of artworks from the 13th to the 17th centuries. In its rooms, you can admire frescoes and paintings by Umbrian masters, including Giotto, Perugino, and Dono Doni, which reflect the evolution of sacred art in the region.
Roman Forum
Located beneath the current Piazza del Comune, the Roman Forum of Assisi preserves the remains of an ancient temple dedicated to the goddess Minerva, as well as fragments of sculptures, inscriptions, and objects that bear witness to the city's Roman past.
Rocca Maggiore
Built in the 14th century, Rocca Maggiore is the medieval fortress that dominates Assisi from above. Its walls and towers offer spectacular views of the Spoleto Valley and Mount Subasio. Inside, you can explore the passageways and learn about the city’s military and defensive history.
