Sheki Day Trip
Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at 50 Nizami St to leave Baku behind and begin our journey to Sheki. Let's get started! On the way, we'll enjoy a scenic drive through the Azerbaijani countryside.
Before reaching Sheki, we'll stop in Khiva to visit the Juma Mosque of Shamakhi. We'll admire the elegant architecture of this temple, built in the beginning of the 20th century, that has become one of the most important monuments in the country.
From here, we'll reach the Ismailli suspension bridge, hanging between mountains and surrounded by vegetation, where you'll enjoy the best scenic views of the nature of Azerbaijan. Plus, you'll experience an unforgettable adventure in the heights as we cross!
Then, we'll continue discovering the natural charms of the area by stopping at the Nohur Lake in Gabala. This lake, surrounded by lush forests and calm turquoise waters, will captivate you. Don't forget to take a picture!
At this beautiful natural setting, you'll stop to rest and enjoy lunch at your own pace. After lunch, we'll set off to Sheki.
First, we'll discover the impressive Kanes Palace, a true architectural gem dating back to the 18th century. For approximately 30 minutes, we'll have the opportunity to marvel at its intricate details and dazzling stained-glass windows, as we learn its secrets.
Next, we'll visit the historic Karvansaray of Sheki. For half an hour, we'll explore this ancient resting place for Silk Road traders, learning about the town's rich trading history and admiring its well-preserved architecture.
We'll leave Sheki behind and head to the town of Kish. Here, we'll visit the Albanian church, one of the oldest temples in the Caucasus region. Did you know that it is believed to date back to the 1st century? We'll be immersed in the tranquility of this place and its surroundings.
