Cape Clear Island & Fastnet Rock Excursion
Cape Clear Island & Fastnet Rock Excursion
At 10:45 am, we'll meet at the port of Baltimore to board a ferry that will take us to the island of Cape Clear.
We'll sail through the waters of Roaringwater Bay until we reach the northern harbor of this island in the south of Ireland. From there, we'll take a bus to the Cape Clear Museum, where you'll learn all about its exciting past.
Then, before returning to the ferry, we'll stop at the 1979 Fastnet Race Disaster Memorial, where we'll learn about the history of this tragic event, which marked a distinct before and after for this place.
Afterward, you'll have free time to explore the most beautiful spots on the island, see the Fastnet Rock Lighthouse from a different perspective and satisfy your appetite at a local restaurant.
Upon returning to the ferry, we'll head into the stunning landscapes of the Wild Atlantic Way. If we're lucky, we may even see the impressive whales and dolphins that swim in these waters! Gradually, we'll make our way to the small islet of Fastnet Rock, home to the largest lighthouse in Ireland.
Finally, we'll return to the starting point in Baltimore and conclude the excursion at approximately 4:45 pm.
