    The tour was very nice, despite starting 15 minutes after the scheduled time because the guide was late. Yet she was able to give a clear explanation of Gaudí's modernist works, as well as a few curiosities about the "casas" and the Sagrada Familia. The last point of the tour was the Sagrada Familia basilica, and we were able to see it at night, as it was already dark by 6 pm, so the stained glass windows were a nice surprise. In general, it was a very nice afternoon, and I recommend the tour!

Located on Passeig de Gràcia in Barcelona, Casa Batlló is one of the city’s most distinctive buildings. Designed by Antoni Gaudí, it stands out for its flowing forms, vibrant colors and bold departure from traditional architecture.

Background and design

Originally built in the late 19th century, the house was completely remodeled by Gaudí in the early 20th century. The façade resembles a living surface, with bone-like columns, mosaic tiles and balconies shaped like masks. Inside, Gaudí designed everything down to the smallest detail, from staircases to light wells, creating a space that feels organic and fluid rather than rigid.
