First, we'll explore the surroundings of the Notre Dame cathedral: a temple built in the Middle Ages that combines elements of Norman Romanesque and Gothic styles. We'll admire the highlights of its facade, for instance, its beautiful portico with various sculptures recreating biblical scenes.

During this tour of Bayeux's old town, we'll also admire the canals and notice the traditional Norman houses. These dwellings will catch your attention with their characteristic half-timbered architecture, a very popular feature in old buildings in Northern France.

The tour can be concluded with a visit to the Bayeux Tapestry Museum, where we'll see one of the most important looms in the history of France. It's a large embroidered canvas from the 11th century, which depicts various episodes related to the subsequent Norman conquest of England.

On the other hand, if you prefer to learn about a key event of World War II, we can finish the tour on the beaches at the Normandy landings. One of the closest is Omaha Beach, located just 30 minutes from Bayeux.
