Jinshanling Great Wall Hiking Trip
Trip Details
At the indicated time, we’ll meet at Beijing’s Dongzhimen Station and from there head to the Jinshanling section of the Great Wall. Let's head out!
During the 2.5-hour journey, we’ll tell you about the history of this part of the wall, which connects two sections of the Great Wall of China: Simatai to the east and Gubeikou to the west.
Once in Jinshanling, you’ll have the option to choose between two hiking routes to do on your own. You can choose to walk from the East Gate to the main gate of the wall. This option is ideal for anyone looking for a physical challenge, taking about 3.5 hours at a steady pace. You’ll climb a 450-meter (1,476-foot) elevation gain, with numerous steps that reward you with unbeatable views of the wall in all its splendor.
The other option starts at the main gate, a shorter and more accessible route. This trail, lasting between 2.5-3 hours at a slow pace, is perfect for anyone wanting to enjoy the surroundings at a more relaxed pace with less effort. Along the way, you'll see several well-preserved watchtowers, perfect for taking great photos!
After your hike, we’ll meet again at the starting point of the walk and begin the journey back to Beijing. There, we'll say goodbye after a total of 10.5 hours.
