Bogota Private Day Trip

Salt Cathedral Day Trip (6 hours)

After picking you up at your hotel in Bogota, we'll drive to Zipaquira, a northern town located about 45 kilometres from the capital. Along the way, we'll learn how what started as a humble chapel became Colombia's first wonder

We'll enter the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquira, located 180 metres underground and carved entirely out of salt, a unique monument in the world! We'll walk through the Stations of the Cross up to the choir, enjoy the curious decoration of the temple and contemplate the largest underground cross in the world. 

Before returning to Bogotá, we will visit the town of Zipaquirá to discover its attractions beyond the cathedral.

Coffee Farm Day Trip (10 hours)

We'll head for the Colombian municipality of Cachipay. During a journey of approximately 3 hours, we'll learn about the importance of coffee in the Colombian culture and discover all the different ways of drinking it, which will surprise you!

On arrival at the Cachipay coffee farm, a local expert will explain the laborious process of obtaining Colombia's star product. The mountains and tropical climate of this country give Colombian coffee, one of the most aromatic in the world, a mild flavour.  

It doesn't matter if you aren't a coffee grower, the landscapes that surround this Cachipay farm will not leave you indifferent. Moreover, lovers of this typical drink of the American continent will have the opportunity to taste a cup of coffee in the purest Colombian style, which will be the highlight of the excursion!

Villa de Leyva Day Trip (12 hours)

At 7 am we'll drive to Villa de Leyva, one of the most beautiful Colombian towns. During the 3 hour bus ride, we'll take the opportunity to unravel the history of this town that combines impressive natural landscapes with unique pre-Columbian architecture. 

Before arriving at our destination, we'll make a brief stop at the Boyacá Bridge, which played a key role in Colombia's independence, and in Ráquira, a colourful municipality famous for its ceramics. 

Once in Villa de Leyva, we'll stroll through its white streets until we reach the Plaza Mayor, the largest square in Colombia, and the largest in the country. To discover the history of this town that combines the traditional and the modern, we'll also visit the Museo Palentológico, the Casa Terracora and the traditional hut Sol Muisca. You'll have 1 hour free for lunch before returning to your hotels in Bogota.

Guatavita + Salt Cathedral Day Trip (10 hours)

At 8 am we'll pick you up at your hotel and leave Bogota behind for the Guatavita Lagoon. During the bus ride, we'll learn about the legends that surround this mystical natural site sacred to the Muisca culture. Did you know that Guatavita is the origin of the legend of El Dorado?

After visiting this incredible Colombian lagoon, we'll continue our excursion to Zipaquirá, a beautiful town that is home to the first wonder of the country: the Salt Cathedral. In this impressive underground temple, we'l see the largest underground cross in the world, a virtual reality theatre and a most peculiar salt decoration.

Afterwards, you'll have 1 hour of free time to sample the local food of Zipaquirá before returning to the bus and heading back to your hotel in Bogotá.
