Horseback Riding in Vettón Forest
Activity Details
At the appointed time, we'll meet at a farm located on the outskirts of Cabezabellosa, a picturesque village in the north of the province of Cáceres, Extremadura.
After equipping ourselves with all the necessary riding equipment and learning some simple safety rules, we'll start a tranquil horseback ride through the Vettón Forest of Cabezabellosa, a unique place that will captivate you forever!
We'll ride through a beautiful oak forest, located within the Special Conservation Area Sierra de Gredos-Valle del Jerte. Throughout the ride, we'll also enjoy magnificent views of the Ambroz River valley.
What's more, as we walk along various paths and mountain trails, we'll discover different vestiges of the Vettóns. These pre-Roman people of Celtic culture settled in the west of the Iberian Peninsula. Their legacy continues to be very prominent in the provinces of Avila, Toledo and, especially, Salamanca and Cáceres.
After visiting different natural viewpoints in the area, which will allow us to observe the lush local nature, we'll conclude this 2-hour horseback ride returning to the starting point.
