Farallones de Cali & El Topacio Day Trip
Day Trip Details
We'll meet at the designated time at the Hotel Intercontinental, where we'll set off south, leaving the city behind. During the journey, we'll stop at a traditional bakery to have a light breakfast and fuel up for the hike that awaits us.
Our journey will take us to the Puente de Amarillo de La Vorágine, where we'll give you a kit with fruit, snacks, and a hydrating drink, perfect for the hiking route. We'll begin to walk toward El Topacio Environmental Center, crossing the Farallones de Cali National Nature Park. Ready for a 5.59 mi (9 km) hiking route? Let's go!
As we advance, you'll see the rock formations, tropical forests, and moors. We'll stop several times to take pictures, observe the fauna, and discover the region's flora. You'll be able to see and listen to the canals of the Pance and Anchicayá rivers and the roar of the Farallones waterfalls.
Once we reach El Topacio, we'll rest and receive an educational lecture. We'll tell you about the park's history and the protection and conservation efforts for this unique ecosystem in southern Cali. You'll discover how the Farallones were considered sacred by the ancestral Indigenous villages.
After this visit, we'll start our journey back, and if the weather allows, we'll swim in the Quebrada La Nevera. The water here stays cool, but that won't stop us from enjoying a refreshing dip! It'll be worth it after this long hike!
Finally, we'll begin our journey back to Cali, where we'll say our goodbyes at the meeting point, after 4 to 6 hours.
