Ticket to Bell Museum in Canela
Why Visit the Bell Museum?
Located in the heart of Canela, the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, also known as the Cathedral of Stone, was chosen as one of the Seven Wonders of Brazil in 2010. Inside this Gothic-style church that captivates its visitors for its architecture, you can find the Bell Museum. Are you ready to explore?
Your visit will begin inside the Cathedral of Stone's tower, where you'll reach the Bell Museum after climbing 100 stairs. Once you enter, you'll see the first bell of the museum, which reaches an E flat note and weighs 2138 pounds (970 kilos), while the second bell plays an F note and weighs 1499 pounds (680 kilos).
Inside the museum, you'll also admire the Carrilhão da Independência, formed by 12 bronze bells that weigh around 4 tons. With this ticket, you'll learn about both the church's history and its founder's history, the canon João Marchesi. You'll also see many pieces in altorrelieve that show the region's traditions and religiousness.
The visit does not end here —you'll also have the opportunity to enjoy the spectacular scenic views of the city of Canela from the church's side balconies. Don't forget your camera to take some pictures!
