    It was a very recommendable trip through Asturias. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and it we enjoyed it a lot! However, we had specifically booked the trip in English, because one of our friends doesn't speak Spanish, but when we got there in the morning they told us the trip was going to be in Spanish, because not enough people had booked the English version. There was no indication in the description of the trip, nor any message from civitatis that this might happen.

    Si estás alojado en Oviedo o Gijón este tour es súper recomendable y cómodo para conocer Cangas de Onís, Covadonga y los lagos...nosotros tuvimos la suerte de tener un día soleado en noviembre, al llegar a Cangas fuimos invitados a un chocolate con churros y el guía nos iba explicando todo incluso de camino en el autobús

The Lakes of Covadonga form a stunning natural setting in the heart of the Picos de Europa National Park, in Asturias. Their beauty has made them one of the most visited natural sites in northern Spain.

Where are the Lakes of Covadonga?

The lakes, Enol and Ercina, sit at an altitude of around 1,100 meters in the Picos de Europa, near the town of Cangas de Onís. Major cities like Oviedo and Gijón are just an hour and a half away by car. If you're traveling from farther cities like Santander or Avilés, the drive is roughly 2 hours.

How to reach the Lakes of Covadonga

Wondering how to get to the Lakes of Covadonga? You can drive your own car, but during peak tourist seasons, private vehicle access is restricted to protect the environment. At those times, the only way up is via shuttle buses.

Another convenient option is to join an organized tour with Civitatis, which departs from cities like Gijón, Oviedo, Avilés, or Santander, offering both transportation and guided experience.
