Day Trip Details

After picking you up at the indicated time at your hotel, we'll head south. During the 2-hour journey, you can admire the coastal and rural landscapes of Senegal, the perfect preview of what awaits us in Joal Fadiouth, a village divided between the African continent and a small island.

Upon arrival, we'll cross the long wooden bridge that will take us to the island of Fadiouth, a unique place in the world where the streets, houses and even the cemeteries are covered with seashells. During the visit, which lasts approximately 1 hour, we'll walk through its narrow streets and discover how Christians and Muslims live together in harmony, with churches and mosques sharing the limelight.

Afterwards, we'll head to the majestic Great Baobab Tree, a thousand-year-old tree that impresses both for its size and the energy it exudes. We'll reveal the legends surrounding it, and you'll understand why it's one of the great symbols of Senegal.

The route will then continue to the Ndamgane jetty, where we'll board a canoe to enter the Saloum Delta. This natural area, declared a Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage Site, is a sanctuary for migratory birds and home to exceptional biodiversity. As we sail through its channels, you'll discover a landscape of mangroves and wetlands of great ecological richness.

Later, we'll stop at Mar Lodj Island, where you'll have time to rest and get yourself a bite to eat for lunch, savouring the local cuisine in a dreamlike setting.

After eating, we'll return to your hotel and say goodbye after a total of 6 to 7 hours in total.
