Tequila Day Trip on the Tequila Express
Activity Details
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Guadalajara and head to the train station, from where the famous Tequila Express departs.
Once on board, we'll enjoy live music and a festive atmosphere as we travel through the agave landscapes, declared a World Heritage Site. Did you know that blue agave is the base plant for making the emblematic Mexican spirit?
After a 2-hour drive, we'll arrive at the picturesque town of Tequila and visit an artisanal distillery, where we'll learn about the tequila production process. From the agave jima to the distillation, and aging in oak barrels, we'll see how this famous drink is made from start to finish.
The 1-hour visit includes, of course, a tequila tasting, where we'll taste for ourselves the different flavors and notes of this well-loved drink. We'll learn to distinguish different aromas, colors, and textures like real experts. Cheers!
Afterward, you will have 6 hours and 45 minutes of free time to stroll through the cobblestone streets of Tequila, visit its stores full of local products, and explore the Cleofas Mota market. Don't forget to take a break and savor the rich cuisine in Jalisco at a local restaurant nearby.
Then, we'll meet again to board the Tequila Express, where we'll continue to enjoy the festive atmosphere as we head back to Guadalajara. Once in Guadalajara, we'll take you back to your hotel and say goodbye after a total of 12 to 14 hours of adventure.
Train Tickets
During the booking process, you can choose between the following options, depending on the type of train ticket you prefer:
- Tourist class ticket: travel in fabric seats with a festive atmosphere to comfortably enjoy the journey among agave landscapes.
- First class ticket: this option allows you to travel in leather seats with more space, plus enjoy access to the train bar on Fridays and Sundays. Please note that this option is only available for passengers over 17 years of age.
Hotel Pickup
This tour includes pickup from hotels located in the Guadalajara metropolitan area. If you are staying outside this area, we'll meet you at Calle 12 de Diciembre.
