Spinalonga Day Trip
Day Trip Details
After picking you up at your meeting point, we’ll drive to the beautiful port of Elunda. There, we’ll board a boat and set sail first for Kolokitha Bay and Beach.
In this idyllic spot, you’ll have about 1.5 hours to swim in the crystal-clear waters and enjoy a delicious barbecue-style lunch on board, featuring grilled pork chops, Greek salad, feta cheese, bread, wine or soft drinks, and seasonal fruit.
Next, we’ll sail to the island of Spinalonga, a place with a history as rich as it is moving. We’ll take a 1.5-hour guided tour to discover its fascinating past as a natural defense for the ancient city of Olous, a hideout for Saracen pirates, a Venetian fortress, and a Turkish settlement.
On our return by boat to Elounda, we’ll board a bus to head to our final stop. Along the way, we’ll make a 30-minute stop to enjoy a traditional olive oil tasting at a local park.
After, we’ll arrive in Agios Nikolaos, the picturesque capital of Lasithi. You’ll have 1 hour of free time to browse the shops selling local products or relax at a café next to the famous Lake Voulismeni.
Finally, we’ll return to the pickup point, concluding the activity after about 9 to 12 hours, depending on the location of your accommodations.
