South Vietnam 5 Day Tour
Day 1: Ho Chi Minh - Da Lat
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Ho Chi Minh and kick off the first day of this journey through South Vietnam.
First of all, we'll visit the Vietnam War Remnants Musuem. After visiting the galleries and learning all about one of the most mediatic conflicts in history for 2 hours, we'll have a traditional lunch and head to the Cu Chi Tunnels.
After a 2-hour drive, we'll reach this historic site, where we'll learn the secrets, traps and strategies that made the Viet Cong one of the most feared and respected armies in the world. We'll enter its narrow tunnels and, if you wish, you'll be able to shoot some weapons of war, such as the AK47.
Then, having enjoyed some typical food, we'll return to Ho Chi Minh at 7 pm, where you'll have time to rest. At 11 pm, we'll board a sleeper bus to Da Lat and arrive at our destination 6 hours later.
Day 2: Da Lat
At 8 am we'll be picked up by motorbike to start our tour. We'll meet the only remaining matriarchal ethnic minority in all of Vietnam, pass by waterfalls, lakes, silk factories and even a cricket farm used for culinary purposes. Will you dare to try them?
Later at 6 pm, we'll be back at Da Lat, to taste the famous hot liquor accompanied by a succulent Vietnamese dinner. Then we'll rest for the night.
Day 3: Da Lat - Ho Chi Minh
The day will begin at 8 am by having breakfast in a famous restaurant, and then take a guided tour of Da Lat. Did you know that it is known as the City of Love in Vietnam? We'll walk through the Valley of Love, and admire the temples, palaces and gardens that are hidden in every corner.
We'll go back to Ho Chi Minh City at 4 pm, and go to the hotel to rest on arrival.
Additionally, we'll take the cable car to arrive at the lake, from where we'll have some unforgettable views of the town's historic buildings.
Day 4: Ho Chi Minh - Can Tho
We'll pick you up at 7 am at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City to go to the station, where we'll get a sleeper bus to Can Tho. On arrival, a local family will be waiting for us and we'll leave our luggage in the lodging by the river. Then the bike tour will start, exploring the Mekong mangroves and the fatal consequences the Vietnam War had on this nature reserve.
After the tour, we'll attend a traditional cooking class in the village - a unique experience! When the activity ends, we'll taste the recipes we have prepared and the famous rice liquor.
Day 5: Mekong Delta - Ho Chi Minh
At 5:30 am, we'll be picked up at the pier to enjoy a journey through the Mekong Delta - rice fields, vegetation and unusual water life! We'll sail to the floating markets and have lunch aboard the boat while admiring the picturesque scene.
The trip will continue along the river to visit a local rice factory and a cacao plantation. At 4 pm we'll return to Ho Chi Minh City, where the South Vietnam 5 Day Tour will end 3 hours later.
Accommodation
The tour includes 4 nights accommodation:
- 1st night: Sleeper bus
- 2nd night: Traditional house in Da Lat, private bungalow
- 3rd night: Amanaki Saigon or similar, in a private room
- 4th night: Traditional house in Can Tho, private bungalow
The capacity of the traditional houses in Da Lat and Can Tho is 2 - 4 people.
