Activity Details

At the scheduled time, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Iquitos and head to the Bellavista Nanay port, where our Amazon adventure begins. Upon arrival, we’ll be welcomed at this scenic port, the perfect gateway into the heart of the Amazon wilderness.

We’ll board a boat and cruise along the Nanay River, soaking in panoramic views as we head toward the confluence with the majestic Amazon River. Along the way, we’ll discover the history and ecological importance of the world’s longest river and its critical role in sustaining local communities.

Our sail will take us to the Yanayacu River, a fascinating protected ecosystem where its black waters stand out. This environment has a rich biological wealth, where you'll discover the fauna and flora that have adapted to the surroundings easily.

We'll disembark at the Yanayacu riverbank to start a hiking route through the forest. Throughout the hike, you'll see plant species like lupunas and huimbas, as well as different medicinal plants used by local communities for centuries.

We'll return to the boat to continue our exciting search for wild fauna, such as monkeys, tropical birds, iguanas, sloths, and reptiles. You'll love this experience!

At midday, we'll enjoy a typical Amazonian lunch on board, tasting the authentic local dishes surrounded by nature. The lunch will consist of "Juane," a mix of chicken, egg, olives, and rice specially prepared on a green biajo leaf, served with salad, fruit, and water. It'll be a unique culinary experience!

After lunch, we'll continue this exciting activity where you'll have the chance to try fishing for piranha with an artisanal technique. You'll learn about this ancient practice in the areas of Yanayacu or the Amazon River.

Finally, we'll sail back along the Amazon River, admiring how the light and colors of the area change at sunset. If you're lucky, you'll see the famous Amazonian gray and pink dolphins. It's an unforgettable natural spectacle!

We’ll conclude the day trip by returning to Iquitos, where we’ll part ways at your hotel, 9 hours after pickup.
