San Juan Festival: Day Trip to Campina Grande
Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in João Pessoa to make our way towards Campina Grande, where the biggest celebrations for San Juan are held in the northeast of Brazil.
After a 1.5-hour journey, we'll reach Povo Park, where a themed bus will be waiting to take us to the festival area. On this vehicle, we'll be accompanied by a guide dressed as a traditional character from the festival: the matuto, who will share various anecdotes about the local culture.
During the journey, we'll also enjoy the traditional forró pé de serra, a rhythm played with the accordion, zabumba, and triangle. We'll learn about typical songs, interesting facts, and traditions from the northeast of the country!
On the bus, you'll also get to taste the popular cachacinhas de Paraíba, a typical drink that goes perfectly with the festive spirit, along with traditional snacks of this time of year, such as popcorn and canjica. How delicious!
Lastly, we'll reach our destination, the vibrant streets where San Juan is celebrated in Campina Grande. Here, you'll have 5 hours of free time to enjoy the festivities, the dancing, and the quadrilhas juninas show. Don’t miss the themed areas of the festival, which change every year. What will this year’s surprise be?
After we all meet up again, we'll drop you off at your hotel in João Pessoa, where we'll say our goodbyes 8 hours after pickup.
