Kaliningrad City Tour
Tour Details
Between 9 am and 10 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel and start our guided tour of Kaliningrad.
Our tour will begin near the House of the Soviets, the site of the Königsberg Castle until its destruction during World War II.
Königsberg was the capital of East Prussia until 1945 when the Soviets annexed it to the USSR and renamed it Kaliningrad. We'll learn all about the history behind this place as we visit the excavations of its fortress and magnificent Gothic cathedral. In addition, we'll head inside the temple to visit the Orthodox and Lutheran chapels.
Afterwards, we'll go to Kant Island and visit the tomb of this famous philosopher, born in the former Königsberg. We'll also stop at the fishing village on the island, where we'll see beautiful views of the Pregolya River.
The next stop on our tour will be the Brandenburg Gate, which houses a marzipan museum that we'll get to visit. We'll then drive past the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, the Saints Peter and Fevronia Orthodox Church and Victory Square before making a stop on the shores of Kaliningrad's lake.
We'll then take a quick look at the Donha Tower and stop by the Rossgarten Gate, where we'll review the Imperial and Soviet history of the city.
Finally, we'll take you to a local restaurant, where we'll have a hot drink before saying goodbye.
