Queulat National Park Trekking Route
Queulat National Park Trekking Route
On the day of the activity, we'll meet at the indicated time at number 350 of Calle 5 de Abril, in La Junta. Once we're ready, we'll take route 7 of the Carretera Austral in the direction of one of the most beautiful areas of the Aysén region. Are you ready to discover Chilean Patagonia in all its majesty?
We'll first make a brief stop in Puyuhuapi, a picturesque village that still preserves buildings from the German immigration that arrived in this part of Chile in the 1940s. After learning about its history, we'll border the Puyuhuapi Channel in the direction of the Queulat National Park. Once there, we'll embark on an unforgettable trekking route.
Our hike, which will last between 3 and 4 hours, will be divided into 2 sections. Firstly, we'll walk along the path that will take us to the Ventisquero lagoon. From its shore, we'll admire the famous Hanging Glacier of Queulat. The second part of the route leads to this famous large ice tongue that rests between the mountains, accompanied by a waterfall taller than 500 metres (1,640 feet).
At the end of the Queulat trekking route, we'll go to a restaurant in the park for a delicious lunch including a typical local dish.
After lunch, we'll walk back to the trailhead and from there, we'll return by road to the meeting point in La Junta, where we'll conclude this 9.5-hour activity.
