La excursión fue muy bien. La guía iba explicando todo con mucho detalle y claridad. Esta excursión requiere cruzar ríos, y en coche sería complicado si no eres experto en ello. El destino es bonito, pero la verdad, no sé si merece tanto la pena hacer 4h de autobús para ir y otras 4h para volver. El autobús no era confortable, estaba sucio, con plásticos colgando y me fue goteando agua. Tuve que cambiarme de asiento y apartar yo los plásticos. También pasamos calor. Pero, en general, bien. La guía, el conductor estupendos. El resto de la excursión no se corresponde con la descripción que se da cuando la compras, se ofrece un posible baño en el cráter ( lago Viti), cuando resulta que cuandobllegamos allí todos ilusionados con nuestro bañador y toalla, nos dicen que,hace 5 años que se recomienda no bañarse por las condiciones inadecuadas del agua. Imagínense nuestra decepción, era nuestro objetivo y no lo hemos podido cumplir, teniendo en cuenta que el precio es abusivo.

The guide and driver were excellent. The rest of the excursion didn't match the description given when you booked it. A possible swim in the crater (Lake Viti) was offered. When we arrived, all excited and wearing our swimsuits and towels, we were told that swimming in the crater had been prohibited for the past five years due to the unsuitable water conditions. Imagine our disappointment; that was our goal, and we couldn't achieve it, considering the outrageous price.

Non dò punteggio piu alto, perche la gita è finita 45 minuti prima di quanto comunicato; a questo punto si poteva prolungare la pausa pranzo o il giro al vulcano. En general nos ha gustado mucho. Pros: los increíbles paisajes y no preocuparte por el coche de alquiler. Contras: muchas paradas (dos ida y dos vuelta) demasiado largas (y no avisan de que dejan tiempo para comer después de Askja), en un bus que va más lento que otros vehículos. El camino tiene muchísimos baches. Hay que ir bien abrigado. Nosotros no pudimos bañarnos por el nivel de pH. El camino de ida al borde del lago Viti son 35 min, más lo que te lleve bajar y subir (mucha pendiente). Translate this opinion into English.

Overall we really liked it. Pros: the incredible scenery and not having to worry about renting a car. Cons: lots of stops (two going and two coming back) that are too long (and they don't tell you that they leave time to eat after Askja), on a bus that goes slower than other vehicles. The road has lots of potholes. You have to wear warm clothes. We couldn't swim because of the pH level. Una excursión muy interesante. Recomendable hacerla, si se quieren conocer cómo son las carreteras F de Islandia. Por las actividades volcánicas de la isla, no pudimos bañarnos en el cráter Viti, siendo todo el entorno y lugar, espectacular. Como apunte, no se pueden volar drones. Todo muy bien organizado. La guía y el conductor muy majos, y dando mucha información sobre el volcán. El único inconveniente es que llovía y había un viento racheado muy fuerte lo que hizo muy complicado el trekking hasta el cráter. En mi opinión, igual que sí indicaban que lleváramos ropa de abrigo y buen calzado, tenían que haber insistido en llevar ropa de agua (capa y pantalones). Llegamos completamente calados.

All very well organized. The guide and the driver very nice, and giving a lot of information about the volcano. The only drawback is that it was raining and there was a very strong gusty wind, which made the trek to the crater very difficult. In my opinion, just as they did indicate that we should wear warm clothing and good shoes, they should have insisted on wearing waterproof clothing (layer and pants). We arrived completely drenched.

No se puede decir que el destino final no mereciera la pena, pero no son de recibo las largas paradas intermedias en lugares intrascendentes y la actitud de la guía, que parecía empeñada en que nadie se metiera a bañarse en la caldera del volcán, con ausencia total de indicaciones para ello, con actitud de hastío perpetuo y limitando mucho la estancia en el destino final. Me parece más grave aún cuando es ese baño uno de los reclamos principales de la excursión. Lamentable, de verdad.

It cannot be said that the final destination was not worth it, but the long intermediate stops in inconsequential places and the attitude of the guide, who seemed determined that no one went to bathe in the volcano's caldera, are not acceptable, with absence total indications for this, with an attitude of perpetual boredom and greatly limiting the stay at the final destination. It seems even more serious to me when that bathroom is one of the main attractions of the excursion. Regrettable, really.
