Day Trip Details
Departing from Lisbon at the scheduled time, we'll head to Sintra, a dreamy town just 30 minutes from the capital.
Once in Sintra, you'll have time to visit the mysterious Pena Park and National Palace, one of Portugal's most impressive landmarks and a testament to the creative genius of King Ferdinand II. From the top of the mountain, you'll also have the chance to see the Castelo dos Mouros. Plus, you'll enjoy a 360-degree projection about the palace's history.
Next, you'll have around 1 hour of free time to stroll through Sintra's old town and admire the National Palace of Sintra from the outside, easily recognizable by its striking white facade, quite different from the colorful Pena Palace.
Afterwards, on the way to Cascais, we'll pass by Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of Europe, and catch a glimpse of Guincho Beach, known by many as a surfer's paradise.
Heading back along the Atlantic coast, we'll pass by Boca do Inferno and arrive in Cascais for a stroll around the bay. You'll then have 1.5 hours of free time to grab a bite, explore the historic center, or take a dip in the sea, a very welcome option during the summer months!
On the way back to Lisbon, we'll pass through Estoril, a town famous for its seafront promenade and casino. After 8 hours of sightseeing, we'll be back at the starting point.
