9-Day Tour Details
Day 1: Lomé
Welcome to Lomé! When you arrive at the Lomé-Tokoin International Airport, we'll be waiting for you to take you to the hotel in the capital of Togo. Before leaving the terminal, you can eat at a restaurant at the airport.
Then, we'll leave you at the hotel so you can rest before starting this fascinating 9-day tour of the best of Togo. How exciting!
Day 2: Lomé - Murals of Jean Koumy - Atakpme - Sokode
After breakfast at the hotel, we'll begin to immerse ourselves in the local culture by exploring the city of Lomé in search of the murals by Jean Koumy. We'll reach his house, where you'll see the colorful frescoes and mosaics created by this talented Belgium-Togolese artist that will leave you completely breathless with its beauty.
You'll have the privilege of meeting the artist, who will tell the history behind each mural. After this colorful explosion, we'll travel on the Región Central highway toward the market of Atakpme, the perfect place to try delicious local fruit.
We'll then continue our journey to Sokode. Before arriving, we'll stop at a restaurant for lunch. Once in Sokode, you'll discover its inhabitants' passion for creating their own clothing.
Finally, we'll go to the hotel to have dinner and rest.
Day 3: Sokode - Koutammakou
After enjoying the traditional Sokode coco, we'll start our journey toward the region of Kara, specifically Koutammakou. First, we'll stop at the Batamariba village. Did you know this is the only place in Togo declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO? You'll see its fascinating architecture and learn about the history of this innovative town that has created many strategies to defend itself from possible attacks.
Next, we'll go to Kakandeyou for lunch, where you can try the local beer. It's quite different! With your appetite satiated, we'll continue learning about the region's culture, such as its folkloric dances and the secrets of its fauna.
To wrap up the day the best way possible, we'll spend the night under the stars in a typical hut of the Koutammakou village.
Day 4: Koutammakou - Sarakawa & Djamde Reserves - Kara
Good morning! After admiring an unforgettable sunrise and enjoying breakfast in the Koutammakou village, we'll step into the African savanna by visiting the Sarakawa and Djamde wildlife reserves. At both of these parks, you'll have the chance to marvel at the fascinating animal life in Togo. You'll love seeing zebras, elephants, lions, buffalos, and monkeys!
After exploring Togo's wildlife fauna, we'll reach a local market in Kara, where you can try unique products. Finally, we'll have dinner at the Lux Lounge Grill restaurant, where you can enjoy traditional cuisine.
Then, we'll take you to the hotel to rest for the next day.
Day 5: Kara - Alejo Fault - Atakpame
We'll have an early breakfast and travel to Kabye, a town nestled in the mountains of Kara, where you'll discover the famous "stone farmers." We'll visit its traditional blacksmiths and potteries, two ancestral crafts that will take your breath away by the skillful use of iron, soil, and clay.
Next, we'll set off to Atakpame. Before we arrive, we'll stop at Aledjo Fault, where you'll have the chance to climb up to the top of this mountain.
Lastly, we'll reach the hotel in Atakpame, where we'll enjoy dinner, and you'll rest in your room.
Day 6: Atakpame - Kpalime
Ready to explore the green region of Kpalime? After breakfast, we'll leave behind Atakpame and travel to Kpalime, where we'll embark on a guided tour of the town's historic heritage. You'll see the Château Viale, a fortress that will take us to the mid-20th century. Its architecture is an authentic gem!
After revitalizing with a local lunch, called foufou, we'll dive into the nature of Kpalime to admire the Cascade de Womé, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Togo. Do you want to take a dip? Let's go!
Our sixth day will end with a dinner at the hotel in Kpalime, where you'll also spend the night.
Day 7: Kpalime - Lomé
After breakfast, we'll head to Lomé, but first, we'll stop at the International Museum of the Gulf of Guinea, one of the largest museums in the region, home to over 1600 pieces that tell the history of Togo.
Our next visit will be at the Akodessawa Fetish Market, the perfect spot to find voodoo products. Skulls, snakes, feathers… You'll be surprised by the stands and products specialized in witchcraft.
Once we reach Lomé, we'll drop you off at your hotel for dinner, or if you prefer, you can spend the night in a tent on the beach. You decide!
Day 8: Lomé - Agbodrafo - Togoville - Lomé
Our exciting 9-day tour of Togo is almost coming to an end! Once we've had breakfast, we'll travel to the Colonial period by heading to Agbodrafo. We'll visit the Slave House and learn about one of the country's darkest periods.
Then, we'll visit Togoville, a town on the other side of Lake Togo, which we'll reach by canoe. Here, you'll meet the fishers and enjoy a lunch featuring fish with them.
Lastly, we'll return to Lomé to enjoy dinner at the Meraki Beach Resort Paradise restaurant before we accompany you to the hotel.
Day 9: Lomé
It's the last day of our tour! However, we won't say goodbye without discovering the lively capital of Togo. We'll stroll along its promenade and see the street vendors in the market. Of course, you'll also see the "mama ben’z," the women who sell the traditional fried dough balls called benz.
To conclude our 9-day tour of Togo, at approximately 12 pm, we'll drop you off at your hotel in Lomé that you have booked or take you to the airport for your flight.

This tour includes 8 nights stay with full board at the following accommodations:
- Lomé (3 nights): Hotel La Savoie or similar (day 1); Hotel New Robinson Plage (day 7), and Hotel Aurore (day 8). All hotels are 3-star hotels.
- Sokodé (1 night): Hotel Nassam’s (3*) or similar.
- Koutammakou (1 night): Accommodation at typical cabins in the village.
- Kara (1 night): Hotel Leota (3*) or similar.
- Atakpamé (1 night): Hotel St. Louise (3*) or KAdjIKA camping site.
- Palimé (1 night): Hotel Les Merveilles (3*) or similar.
