Oxford & Lacock Harry Potter Day Trip
Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we’ll meet at Bulleid Way in Victoria and board a comfortable bus, ready for a magical day exploring two iconic filming locations from the Harry Potter series.
Our first stop is Oxford, one of England’s most beautiful and historic cities. We’ll begin with a guided walking tour through the stunning university grounds that doubled as Hogwarts in the films. Our path will take us into the Bodleian Library, including Duke Humfrey’s Library, which stood in as the Hogwarts Library, and the Divinity School, famously used as the infirmary where Harry recovered from his run-ins with dark magic.
We'll also visit the impressive Christ Church College, where we’ll see the staircase where Professor McGonagall first greets the new students in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, and the hall that inspired Hogwarts’ Great Hall. Along the way, you’ll enjoy free time to explore the cobbled streets, historic buildings, and local shops that give Oxford its enchanting charm.
Next, we’ll make our way to Lacock, a beautifully preserved medieval village where history and Hollywood come together. Along the way, you can enjoy the snacks you brought along with you. Upon arrival, we'll stroll through the village, pointing out spots we’ll recognize from scenes set in Godric’s Hollow and other iconic Hogwarts locations.
We’ll then visit Lacock Abbey, a highlight for any Potter fan. Step inside the abbey’s grand interiors, used for various Hogwarts classrooms — from Professor Snape’s potions lessons to Professor Quirrell’s Defense Against the Dark Arts sessions. It even served as Horace Slughorn’s hideaway in The Half-Blood Prince.
After soaking up the magical atmosphere, we'll begin our return journey. Before getting back on the bus, the guide will point out where you can purchase a snack or refreshment nearby.
Finally, we’ll return to London, bringing our experience to an end at Gloucester Road Underground Station after an unforgettable 10.5-hour adventure.
