Marrakech Carpet Workshop
Activity Details
At the scheduled time, we'll meet on Kbour Chou Street, where you'll find a cozy atelier surrounded by colorful Moroccan carpets. There, an artisan and a weaver will welcome you with mint tea and traditional sweets. What a great way to start!
Before starting the workshop, you'll learn about the history and symbolism of Moroccan carpets, true works of art that reflect the identity of the country's different regions. You'll learn how Berber colors and patterns convey values such as love, protection, and fertility, and how natural dyes are obtained from plants and minerals.
Then, you'll prepare the loom and choose the colors that inspire you most. No prior experience is required: the artisan will guide you step by step throughout the process, teaching you traditional weaving techniques that have been passed down for centuries.
As you work, you'll enjoy the authentic atmosphere of a Moroccan workshop, accompanied by the sound of the loom and the aroma of freshly brewed tea. You'll see how each knot and each thread shapes your own creation: a small handmade carpet that you can take home as a souvenir.
Finally, after an 1 of experience, we'll say goodbye with your finished carpet, a tangible symbol of your connection to Moroccan culture and the art of weaving.
3-Hour Workshop
If you’d like an even more complete experience, we recommend booking the three-hour option. In this case, you’ll have the opportunity to create a larger and more detailed carpet.
