Moroccan Cooking Class in Marrakech
Activity Details
Meet us at Mosque Bab Doukkala for an exciting and fun-filled culinary adventure in Morocco! Get ready to step into the rich world of Moroccan cuisine as we begin our cooking class in Marrakech.
Before we tie on our aprons, we'll head to the nearby souk to gather some fresh ingredients for the dishes we'll make. As we walk along the market stalls, right in the heart of Marrakech's Medina, we'll select only the freshest ingredients, from meats and veggies to fruits and spices. With our newly bought ingredients in hand, we'll head to a traditional riad within the Medina to begin cooking.
As we enter the kitchen, we'll first watch a demonstration on how to make traditional Moroccan tea, a cultural staple of the country. Together, with our lead chef, we'll enjoy a cup of mint tea, as we learn about the three dishes we'll make including a starter, main, and dessert.
With our sleeves rolled up, we'll get to work, learning how to prepare our starter dish, choosing between typical Moroccan starters like zaalouk, caramelized carrots, Moroccan salad, or zucchini with Chermoula Sauce. Then, we'll move on to our main dish, a classic tajin, with chicken or vegetables. Lastly, we'll begin making our dessert dish, milk pastilla, a delicious and sweet traditional pastry dessert. Yum!
Along the way, we'll learn everything we need to know about the vital ingredients needed to create the rich flavors of each dish. Finally, once everything has been prepared, we'll enjoy our hard work and sample all three plates. Bon appétit!
Then, after 3 to 3.5 hours of culinary adventure, we'll bring the experience to an end.
