Day Trip Details

Want to explore the scenic spots in the Andes? Then, after picking you up from your hotel in Mendoza at the designated time, we'll leave the city behind and head west. This 74 mi (120 km) journey will take us to the Mendoza River. The beautiful views will captivate you from the start!

We'll first see the Dique de Potrerillos, where, if you're lucky, you'll see the condors flying over the area. We'll continue the route toward Uspallata, a valley where a Huarpe village lives, located 6,561 ft (2,000 m) high. After a technical pause, we'll continue our journey for about 43 mi (70 km) to Los Penitentes, a former skiing station

Just 3.19 mi (5 km) away, you'll find the Puente del Inca, a natural ocher and golden arch 8,923 ft (2,720 m) above sea level that holds the waters of the Las Cuevas River. Very close by, you'll see the Cementerio de los Andinistas, erected to honor all the climbers who died during expeditions to Aconcagua.

Later, from a viewpoint, we'll admire the immensity of Aconcagua, which is nicknamed the "Roof of America" because of its 22,834 ft (6,960 m). Between November and April, you'll have the option to access the Aconcagua Provincial Park and walk toward the laguna de los Horcones at your own pace.

Our next stop? Las Cuevas, a village 10,498 ft (3,200 m) high that's very close to the border of Chile. Before leaving, you'll have 1 hour of free time so you can eat at one of the restaurants in the village.

Between January and March, you can climb up to Christ the Redeemer, standing 13,779 ft (4,200 m) above sea level. It's the tallest monument in the Andes! Please note that this ascent is an addition that we'll include only when the trail is enabled. If the trail is not enabled, the itinerary will continue without this stop.

Lastly, we'll regroup to begin the journey back, stopping at Uspallata for one last break before reaching Mendoza. Finally, after 11 hours, we'll say our goodbyes at your hotel.
