Trans-Siberian Railway: Moscow to Vladivostok

Day 1: Moscow

Having picked you up from the airport in Moscow on your arrival, we'll take you to your hotel in the Russian capital so that you can relax in preparation for your adventure on the Trans-Siberian Railway.

Day 2: Moscow

After breakfast, we'll embark on a guided tour of the Russian capital to discover its most important attractions: Red Square, St Basil's Cathedral and the spectacular Cathedral of Christ the Saviour. We'll visit the Moscow Metro where you'll understand why the city's underground enchants its visitors, before renewing our energy in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we'll explore the famous Kremlin. At the end of the day, we'll settle on board the Imperial Russia train for dinner and to set off on our Trans-Siberian adventure.

Day 3: Kazan

We'll enjoy breakfast on board the train before heading out to discover Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan. This city, located on the banks of the Volga River, is home to important monuments such as the UNESCO World Heritage Site-designated Kremlin and the dazzling Kul Sharif Mosque. You'll have the opportunity to experience local Tatar culture attending a traditional dance show and cooking class, before returning to the Trans-Siberian for dinner and to rest.

Day 4: Yekaterinburg 

Our next destination on the Trans-Siberian Railway will be Yekaterinburg, where we'll be immersed in the history of the Romanov family as we visit the Church on Spilled Blood, built on the site where the last Russian Tsar and his family were executed. Then, after visiting the border between Europe and Asia, we'll return to the train for a well-earned dinner on board.

Day 5: Novosibirsk

On the fifth day of the trip we will arrive at one of the coldest regions in the world: Siberia. We will visit Novosibirsk, its largest city, and learn about the most important events that have taken place in its history. We'll visit the Opera House, the Railway Museum and the embankment of the Ob River.

Day 6: Imperial Russia

We'll spend our sixth day relaxing and enjoying the luxury of the Imperial Russia train as we cross through the landscapes of Siberia in the direction of Irkutsk. You can take the time to rest, learn about the history of the train and make the most of the different activities the train offers.

Day 7: Irkutsk

First thing in the morning, we'll reach the "Paris of Siberia" as Irkutsk is popularly known, and we'll climb off the train to embark on a guided tour of the city's monuments and landmarks. We'll see the Decemberist House Museum, the House of Europe and the traditional wooden houses found around the city. Then, after rebuilding our energy in a local restaurant, we'll visit the Taltsy Ethnographic Museum and a neighbourhood that will transport us back to the 19th century. After dinner at a restaurant in Irkutsk, we'll return to the train for the night.

Day 8: Lake Baikal

Nature will be the protagonist of the eighth day of our Trans-Siberian adventure. Arriving at the deepest lake in the world, we'll board a boat and set sail across the sparkling waters of Lake Baikal. We'll cruise across to the lakeside town of Listvyanka, taking in the views of the Chersky Stone. After exploring Listvyanka, we'll enjoy a picnic on the banks of Lake Baikal before returning to the train.

Day 9: Ulan-Ude

Our next stop will be in Ulan Ude, capital of the Buryatia region of Russia, where we'll get to learn all about Buryatia culture and folklore visiting the Ivolginsky Datsan Buddhist temple and spending the day with a local family. We'll make typical food from the region, try on traditional clothing and play darts with them. Unforgettable!

Day 10: Imperial Russia

The tenth day will be spent travelling across the plains of eastern Russia on the Trans-Siberian Railway. Did you know that the total length of the railway is 9,289 kilometres (5,772 miles)? And that it spans eight different time zones? 

Day 11: Imperial Russia

Our journey across Siberia will continue on board the Trans-Siberian train as we head towards the easternmost stop on our route.

Day 12: Khabarovsk

With batteries recharged after breakfast, we'll head off the train to explore the most important places of interest in the Russian city of Khabarovsk. We'll eat in a local restaurant to sample regional cuisine before embarking a boat cruise on the Amur River, which forms a natural border between Russia and China. On board the boat we'll enjoy a folklore show and learn how to paint the iconic Russian matryoshka dolls. A unique memory of your trip!

Day 13: Vladivostok

At the end of our more than 5000 mile journey, we'll finally reach Vladivostok, whose name literally means "ruler of the east". We'll get to enjoy views of the bay from one of the city's hills, before settling into a hotel for the last evening of our tour.

Day 14: Vladivostok

On the final day of the Trans-Siberian adventure, you'll have time to explore Vladivostok at your own pace and get any last souvenirs before we take you to the airport, bringing your unforgettable two week trip to a close.

When making your reservation for the Imperial Russia Trans-Siberian Railway, you'll be able to choose the type of cabin according to your preferences:

• VIP Cabin: this 7 metre squared cabin has two large bunk beds (one upper, one lower), a table, an armchair and a wardrobe. It also has television, air conditioning and its own bathroom with shower and washbasin.
• Business Cabin: this 5.5 metre squared compartment has two large bunk beds (one upper, one lower), a table, an armchair and a wardrobe. It also has television, air conditioning and its own bathroom with shower and washbasin.
• Plus Cabin: these cabins are 3.3 metres squared and have two bunk beds (one upper, one lower), a table, an armchair and a wardrobe. There is air conditioning throughout the carriage and your luggage will go in a different compartment. You'll share the washbasin with another cabin and there are two bathrooms with a shower at the ends of the carriage.
• First Class Cabin: these compartments are 3.3 metres squared and have two lower-level beds, a table, television and a space to store clothes. There is a shower, washbasin and air conditioning for the use of the entire carriage, and there are two bathrooms at either end of the carriage.

This tour in two nights' hotel accommodation in Moscow and Vladivostok. The planned hotels are the following:
