Welcome to Nairobi! We'll be awaiting your arrival at the airport or the lobby of your hotel to kick off this thrilling 9-day exploration of Northern Kenya. Get ready to delve into the country's most unique landscapes and encounter its authentic tribes. Let the adventure begin!

Before setting out, we'll make a pit stop at the Hilton Garden Inn for a hearty buffet breakfast. Energized and ready to go, we'll make our way to the village of Isiolo, traversing fertile farmland and treating ourselves to panoramic views of the majestic Mount Kenya.

As the day winds down, we'll arrive at the hotel in Isiolo, allowing you time for dinner and a well-deserved rest.

Day 2: Isiolo - Marsabit National Park

Following breakfast, we'll bid farewell to Isiolo and set our course for Marsabit National Park. En route, we'll pass through varied altitudes, witnessing the seamless transition from lush greenery to arid landscapes.

Midway through the day, we'll reach the hotel and have lunch. Satisfied and fueled up, we'll embark on a safari through Marsabit National Park, a nature reserve nestled on Mount Marsabit renowned for its abundant zebra population and bird sanctuary.

Our safari will take us in search of the park's diverse wildlife, and we'll venture to the crater's edge, where a hiking trail will lead us to the stunning Lake Paradise. Prepare to be captivated by its beauty!

After this enchanting experience, we'll return to the hotel for dinner and a rejuvenating night's sleep, gearing up for the adventures of the next day.

Day 3: Marsabit National Park - North Horr

Start your day with an early breakfast as we venture into the lesser-known parts of Kenya. Before bidding farewell to Marsabit National Park, we'll explore its desert area, unveiling the impacts of climate change in the country.

Our journey then takes us to North Horr, where we'll traverse unique rocky trails, pausing at the Kalacha Oasis—a watering hole frequented by local shepherds guiding their camels in search of water.

Eager to deepen your understanding of local culture? Our next stop is the Gabra Tribe, an ethnic group inhabiting the arid Chalbi lands. Immerse yourself in their traditions and way of life!

Upon reaching North Horr, lunch awaits at the hotel. In the afternoon, we'll conquer a vast sand dune on foot, and the breathtaking views from its summit will leave you awe-struck!

We'll wrap up the day with a delightful dinner at the lodge.

Day 4: North Horr - Loiyangalani

After a satisfying breakfast at the North Horr Hotel, we'll set our course for Loiyangalani. Begin the day with a hike through the distinctive rocky terrain marked by significant volcanic activity. The hike culminates at Lake Turkana.

Midway through the day, we'll reach the lodge for a nourishing lunch. Energized, we'll visit the El Molo tribe, the smallest in Kenya, situated on the lagoon's shores. Observe their water-centered lifestyle and discover ancient fishing techniques used for sustenance.

As the journey unfolds, we'll return to the hotel, bringing a fulfilling day to a close.

Day 5: Loiyangalani

The exploration of the Loiyangalani area persists on the fifth day. Following breakfast, a visit to the Turkana village awaits, providing insights into the local craftsmanship with wood. Delve into the meanings behind the tribesmen's tattoos and gain a deeper understanding of their cultural significance.

We'll return to the hotel for lunch, and the afternoon unfolds with a trip to the Desert Museum—a captivating place showcasing the lives, traditions, art, and beliefs of the desert's inhabitants.

The day will wrap up with a delightful dinner back at the hotel.

Day 6: Loiyangalani - Ngurunit

Embark on a new day after a hearty breakfast as we bid farewell to Loiyangalani, making our way to Ngurunit. En route, we'll visit the Wind Power project. Upon reaching the lodge, take some time to rejuvenate and relish a satisfying lunch.

In the afternoon, a camel ride along the Ngurunit River and through the Rendille village will offer an authentic encounter with the traditions of these small African communities.

The day will wrap up with a tasty dinner and rest at the hotel.

Day 7: Ngurunit - Samburu National Reserve

The day will begin with an early breakfast as we bid farewell to Ngurunit and set our sights on one of northern Kenya's gems—the Samburu National Reserve. Arrival is anticipated by midday, followed by lunch before embarking on a safari.

Keep your eyes peeled for antelopes, giraffes, leopards, elephants, and lions as we traverse the reserve. The day will cap off with the opportunity to witness a breathtaking sunset over the African savannah.

The day will end as we return to the hotel for a delightful dinner.

Day 8: Samburu National Reserve

As the journey approaches its close, we'll reserve the eighth day for an in-depth exploration of the entire Samburu National Reserve. We'll do a safari to encounter its most distinctive wildlife.

Post-lunch at the lodge, we'll delve into the rich culture of the Samburu tribe by visiting one of their villages. Relatives of the Maasai, these tribespeople residing in the central highlands and northern deserts will share their herding practices and ancient traditions. Uncover the symbolism behind their attire and listen to riveting warrior stories.
