However, the great highlights of the National Archaeological Museum of Naples are the rooms displaying pieces found during the excavations of Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Stabiae. Among the treasures discovered at these sites, the Alexander Mosaic stands out, a true masterpiece found in the House of the Faun in Pompeii that recreates one of the greatest battles fought by Alexander the Great.
You also shouldn’t miss the mosaic of Plato conversing with his disciples, which idealizes one of the scenes from The Symposium, one of the main works of the Greek philosopher.
