Free Nighttime Food Tour of the Village
Tour Details
At the stated time, we’ll meet under the Washington Square Arch, right in the heart of Greenwich Village. From this iconic meeting point, we’ll begin our free tour by walking through the park and around New York University while talking about how this neighborhood went from being a bohemian area to a true cultural icon of the city.
Very close by is the Brown Building, linked to one of the most tragic fires in New York’s history. After that, we’ll dive into the Village’s musical spirit by passing venues such as The Bitter End and Café Wha?, where artists who shaped the history of rock and singer-songwriter music once performed.
This free nighttime tour of the Village will also take us past the Comedy Cellar, a stand-up comedy temple where some of the country’s top comedians have performed. From here on, the food-focused part of the tour will begin.
We’ll walk through the streets of the West Village, stopping at places like 7th Street Burger, Mamoun’s Falafel, Joe’s Pizza, Faicco’s Italian Specialties, and Bleecker Street Pizza. At each stop, we’ll explain what makes these spots special, and you’ll have the option to buy something to eat. You won’t be able to resist!
Next, we’ll head to the famous Friends Apartment Building, where we’ll talk about filming details and fun facts from the series. Just a few steps away, we’ll find Magnolia Bakery, one of the city’s best-known bakeries, before heading to the building that houses Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment from Sex and the City.
The final stretch of the tour will take us to Arthur’s Tavern, a historic jazz and blues bar, and we’ll say goodbye in front of the iconic Stonewall Inn, the epicenter of the fight for LGBTQ+ rights.
We’ll wrap up the experience here with final stories and recommendations after nearly 3 hours of touring.
