Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island & 9/11 Memorial Guided Tour
Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at 24 State St., at One Battery Park Plaza. Once we're all together, we'll skip the lines and hop on the ferry that will bring us to Liberty Island. Ready to explore one of the biggest tourist attractions in New York?
As soon as we start our cruise, we'll have one of the best views of the Manhattan skyline in front of us. The skyscrapers of the Financial District and the Brooklyn, Manhattan and Williamsburg bridges will take centre stage of the photos you'll take from the deck of the ferry as we sail towards the Statue of Liberty, the first stop of our tour.
Once we arrive at Liberty Island, we'll take a guided tour to discover the secrets of this small island. What has been its role throughout history? Why is the great symbol of New York erected here? We'll learn all about it! As you would expect, our eyes will be fixed at all times on the Statue of Liberty, the absolute star of any tour of Liberty Island.
After admiring its impressive exterior, we'll give you time to enter the Statue of Liberty Museum, a perfect place to learn about the history behind this iconic sculpture and where we'll get to see unique artifacts.
Having spent about 2 hours on Liberty Island, we'll get back on the ferry and travel to Ellis Island. During the journey, we'll tell you some interesting facts about the island, where foreigners to the United States used to arrive during the 19th and 20th centuries. It is a key point for understanding the country's immigration history! You can also visit the National Immigration Museum on your own and be amazed by the lives of people who came from all over the world after their arduous journeys.
An hour later, once this trip to the past is over, we'll board the ferry again to go to Manhattan. Upon arriving at Battery Park, we'll begin a 1-hour walking tour of Wall Street. We'll pass by notable sites such as Federal Hall and the New York Stock Exchange before arriving at Ground Zero, the site of the former Twin Towers.
We'll talk about the terrorist attack that struck New York on September 11, 2001, and we'll see the 9/11 Memorial. These enormous pools pay tribute to the 3,000 victims of the attack, with their names engraved on the sides. We'll also admire the 400 oak trees surrounding the memorial and the famous 'survivor tree'.
Finally, after 5 hours, we'll say goodbye and conclude this comprehensive tour of New York at 180 Greenwich Street.
