Sea Glass Island Kayak Trip
Activity Details
At the scheduled time, we’ll pick you up from your hotel or the cruise port in Oranjestad. After a short introduction, we’ll begin a 20-minute drive to Savaneta. Once at the dock, we’ll grab our kayaks and get ready to paddle.
With the gentle sway of the sea, we’ll kayak for about 15 minutes over the calm turquoise waters along Aruba’s coast. Upon arrival, Sea Glass Island will welcome us with its unique charm. Did you know that just over half a century ago, this tiny island was once a dumping site for the local community? Over time, the ocean transformed fragments of glass, ceramics, and marble into smooth, glistening treasures.
We’ll paddle around Sea Glass Island and admire the sunlight reflecting off these colorful pieces, now rounded and polished by the waves. Since sea glass is not considered a natural resource in Aruba, you can pick your favorite pieces to take home as a keepsake of this special experience.
Finally, after two hours of exploring by kayak, we’ll return to the dock to drop off the equipment. Once ready, we’ll head back to your hotel or cruise port, where we’ll say goodbye after a total of 3.5 hours on this trip.
