Serra Orrios Archaeological Complex Trip

We will meet up in Piazza del Popolo square where we board the bus. We will leave Orosei behind and head for the outskirts of the town of Dorgali, where the amazing Serra Orrios archaeological site is located. The journey will take just 30 minutes.

The Nuragic was a civilization that inhabited Sardinia around 1700 B.C. Although the island was conquered by the Roman Empire, there are still vestiges to the legacy of these ancient inhabitants. We will tell you about their beliefs and ways of life as we explore the fascinating settlement of Serra Orrios.

The site consists of a group of circular houses, wells, megalithic tombs, and two temples. We will tour these spaces while learning about the great value of the ceramic pieces and other everyday tools that have been found at this site.

Afterward, we visit the giant tombs of the Nuragic period which were used to bury a large number of the dead, hence their colossal dimensions. We will visit the funerary monument of S'Ena e Thomes, which at 13 feet high is one of the best-preserved in Sardinia, and will attract your attention!

We will finish the excursion arriving back in Orosei at 1 pm.
