Itacolomi Peak Hiking Tour
Ouro Preto Hiking Adventure
We'll pick you up from your hotel at the designated time, leaving Ouro Preto behind as we venture to the base of Pico do Itacolomi, nestled on the border between Ouro Preto and Mariana.
Before embarking on the 14 km (8.7 mi) hike, we'll pause at the Fazenda do Manso, an 18th-century Casa Bandeirista. Here, you'll marvel at the colonial architecture that goes back to the bandeirantes, explorers of the Portuguese empire who charted the interior territories of the American continent during colonization.
Now fully immersed in the journey, we'll commence our hike towards Pico do Itacolomi, standing tall at 1772 meters (3,845 feet). Throughout the trek, be prepared to be captivated by the stunning scenery in this area.
After traversing the captivating landscapes of Itacolomi, we'll pause for a well-deserved rest, allowing you to recharge your energy. Once revitalized, we'll commence our return journey to Fazenda do Manso. For those seeking additional relaxation, a nearby lagoon awaits for a refreshing swim.
As the day unfolds, we'll cap off the eight-hour adventure by returning you to your hotel in Ouro Preto.
