Panama Canal & Gatún Lake Boat Tour
Tour Details
At the scheduled time, we'll depart from Perico Island pier for an unforgettable boat tour through the Panama Canal, exploring its main locks and cruising across Gatún Lake. Get ready to experience one of Central America's most amazing sites.
We'll start by sailing along Panama City’s southern coast toward the Bridge of the Americas. Welcome to the gateway to the Panama Canal! Throughout the journey, we'll learn the history of this impressive engineering marvel. Enjoy live music and a folkloric dance show on board, adding color and fun to the journey.
Next, we’ll head to the Miraflores Locks, where ships are raised or lowered depending on whether they’re heading to the Atlantic or Pacific Ocean. Ever wondered how this system works? You’ll find out!
Then, we’ll continue to the Pedro Miguel Locks and the Culebra Cut—a huge man-made valley linking Gatún Lake with the waters of the Gulf of Panama. While passing through this area, enjoy a delicious buffet lunch accompanied by unlimited coffee and soft drinks.
The final part of the tour takes place on Gatún Lake. From the boat, you can see the Chagres River and the lush Gamboa rainforest, home to monkeys, turtles, caimans, exotic birds, and fish.
Finally, we’ll return to the departure pier, concluding this 5-hour excursion.
