Philadelphia Old City Tour
Tour Details
At the indicated time, we’ll meet at the intersection of 2nd St and Race St, the perfect starting point for a guided tour of Philadelphia, one of the most important cities in the development of the United States. Don’t want to miss a thing? Let’s get started!
During the tour, we’ll pass by Philadelphia’s most historic landmarks, such as the Betsy Ross House, Arch Street Meeting House, Independence Hall, and the Liberty Bell Center, where the Declaration of Independence was signed and where the famous Liberty Bell is located.
We’ll continue our journey into the United States’ past as we approach Carpenters' Hall and Philadelphia City Hall.
Naturally, we’ll also pass by Congress Hall. Did you know that Philadelphia was the temporary capital of the United States? This building served as the seat of the United States Congress between 1790 and 1800, and it’s where Presidents Washington and Adams were sworn into office.
We’ll also pass by First U.S. Bank. As we admire its impressive façade, we’ll explain why it was built and the debate it sparked regarding its role after the Revolutionary War.
Around the middle of the tour, we’ll head to Reading Terminal Market, where you’ll have 30 minutes of free time to satisfy your appetite with the local delicacies offered at this market.
With renewed energy, we’ll take a look at the city’s murals and discover Chinatown, an area full of restaurants and bars where we’ll learn all about Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, and Korean culture and cuisine.
Finally, we’ll continue walking through the streets of Philadelphia to visit one of its most iconic landmarks, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, home to the Rocky statue and its famous steps. You’ll be able to recreate the iconic movie scene!
At the end of 4 hours, we’ll conclude the tour near the meeting point.
