Ek Balam & Native Park Yucatán Excursion
Between 6 and 8:45 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel. From there, we'll head by minibus to the archaeological site of Ek Balam, a pre-Hispanic enclave located on the outskirts of the city of Valladolid, in the heart of the Yucatán Peninsula.
Once we have arrived at our destination, we'll take a guided tour of Ek Balam to learn about its exciting Maya legacy. Among its most important remains is the acropolis of Ek Balam, a colossal construction where we'll see the great tomb of the Maya King Ukit Kan Le'k Tok'. We'll also check out the pyramids of the site and the ruins of the court where the popular ball game was played.
Follwing a 45-minute guided tour of the site, we'll leave you another 45 minutes free to continue exploring the ruins, after which we'll board the minibus and head to the Native Park Yucatán adventure park.
You'll have three hours of free time to enjoy the many things the park has to offer. You can swim in its impressive Maya cenote, which houses the largest vault in the Yucatán, slide down a fun 72-foot (22-meter) zip line, go through amazing underground tunnels and even participate in a blessing ceremony with a shaman. There's something for everyone!
When you get hungry, you can go to Native Park Yucatán's restaurant for a typical meal that includes dishes made with produce from the organic garden and handmade tortillas - bon appetit!
Finally, we'll return to the minibus and finish the excursion between 5:30 and 6 pm, dropping you back at your hotel.
