Mahon Cheese Factory + Tasting
At the agreed time, we'll meet outside of the Subaida cheese factory, a farm that is responsible for the production of Mahon cheese.
First, we'll visit the facilities of this farm to meet the Dutch Friesian breed cows that produce the milk for the cheese. Not only that, but we'll also have the chance to see a herd of friendly goats and herds of pigs chilling around the oaks and pines area.
Later, we'll go to the milking parlor, and, hopefully, we'll witness the milking process. Then, we'll learn all the steps for cheese making and we will talk about the exact ripening time.
We will finish the tour with a tasting of three varieties of Mahon cheese, sobrasada, salchichon and almond sweets accompanied by bread, wine, and water. Bon appetit!
Lastly, after this hour a half tour we'll end this tour.
