Coroa Vermelha Beach & Pataxó Coroa Indigenous Village Day Trip
Tour Details
At the scheduled time, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Porto Seguro and take a short 20-minute drive to our first stop: the Reserva da Jaqueira, home to a Pataxó village. This is where our cultural immersion begins.
For around 3 hours, you’ll step into a community where traditions are part of everyday life. You’ll be welcomed with traditional songs and dances, including the Awê ritual, an ancestral celebration that expresses unity, memory, and connection to nature.
You’ll learn about symbolic body painting and the deep respect the Pataxó show for their elders. Through conversations with community members, you’ll hear about their long history of resistance. Since the 16th century, the Pataxó have lived through and survived contact with Portuguese colonizers. Today, they continue to preserve their language, Patxohã, which is taught in local schools, along with traditional knowledge of medicinal plants and hunting techniques.
You’ll also have the chance to taste fish wrapped in patioba leaves, a traditional local dish. During the visit, you’ll learn about their handicrafts and their current way of life, which focuses on agroforestry and the restoration of natural springs.
After this cultural experience, we’ll return to the road and, just 10 minutes later, arrive at Coroa Vermelha Beach. Here, you’ll have 4 hours of free time to relax by the sea, swim, or simply enjoy the peaceful setting.
Finally, we’ll meet again and head back to Porto Seguro, where we’ll drop you off at your hotel after approximately 8 hours together.
